New Online Class-In-Tune with the Moon

I am very excited to announce my first online class, "In-Tune with the moon". This is a big leap for me. When I was in California for my Graduation of Color of Woman 2014-I claimed that I am making space for me, that I ready to be seen and heard, to step out of my comfort zone to be more aligned with who I am and what my passions are. This is a big leap for me and it fills me with joy to be offering this.

I have always felt a connection with the moon and the night time sky-something always stops me to look and just be with the night time sky. I love staring at the moon, and somehow the moon always surprises me when I see her during day time hours, that I have to stop and stare again. I started being more intentional with the moon after a class of building a grandmother drum with Carlos Gomes (a truly transformational journey). I have been paying attention to and honoring the full moon. I would like to be more intentional with the moon-really focusing on each part of the cycle and looking for patterns in my own life, and setting goals with the cycles. I have been working on content over the past couple months and reading and talking to others about their experiences with living intentionally with the moon. This is a year long class of using intentional creativity to follow the cycles of the moon, to see what arises and share our discoveries as a community.

I too love the moon. And I am thinking of taking your class. Your paintings are beautiful. Most of the time I can't see the moon. I live in Iowa and am in a wheelchair. Outside activites are limited. It is very snowy, icey and cold here. So, maybe I need to take the class in the summer.lol It is for all year, I know. I would also like to know where you took the drum making class. I have been looking for a drum for some time and would love to make one. Also I am commenting here because I found no place to conntact you. Sorry. Thanks for your reply

Hello Laurel,

So glad to here from, thank you for your interest in the class. I understand your sentiments I am just a bit North and east of you in New Brunswick, Canada. I think that following the moon will still have great effects even if you are unable to enjoy visually seeing her, and as you mentioned the class is for a year so even if you waited until the summer all previous lessons will still be there for your enjoyment :)

The man that taught me how to build my drum is actually a local Native Elder in our area. He is incredible. I am not quite sure how you would go about finding someone in your area. The one I made was hosted at a New Age type of store-you could call a place like that and see if they have heard of anyone. I have just emailed him to see where he would suggest to start your search. If I hear back from him I will let you know.

Hope this helped a little. Let me know if there are any other questions. And thanks for letting me know you couldn't find my contact info. I added something to the about page today to fix that.

Sending Love...and I wish I could send warmth but someone from he south will need to do that for both of us :)

Jennifer
