Mommy Monday

Mommy Monday is going to be my main post each week about life as a Mom and anything else that comes along with parenting. I will apologize upfront for any blog posts being a little disorganized, bouncing up and down while singing and trying to write a blog with one hand is quite the challenge. If anything I am becoming the ultimate multi-tasker.

Carrying Kieran for nine months was the most wonderful experience I can imagine. I felt healthy and confident throughout the whole pregnancy. I never wanted to forget the feeling, so I did a lot of journaling. I am glad I did, because three months later trying to remember how it felt is foreign to me.  After the birth (and a couple weeks after) it was so weird to not have Kieran inside; I would forget and still rub and hold my belly, and I would wait for him to kick. Now I look back at pictures and think "wow, I can't believe Kieran was in there". I can read my journal and remember exactly the emotions,  but nothing can replicate the physical. I miss those feelings, but meeting Kieran and watching him grow is more magical than being pregnant. It is amazing being a mother-I know I am only three months in, but I love it. I love spending my day with him-even if he is having a rough day, I would not give being a Mom up for the world. Hopefully I will be able to share a slice of my perspective if motherhood with this blog.

The birth was just as perfect. At the beginning of the pregnancy I had some really big fears about giving birth in a hospital, I really wanted to do it without intervention; and with the help of Doula Sue Appleton, that became a reality. The worse thing that happened was all the water backing up in the whole wing-which was fairly funny. Peter wrote an awesome blog on our birth experience so check it out if you like.
