Hope you had a Merry Christmas or as Kieran would say 'Mehhey Mehmiss!'.
We had a wonderful Chirstmas. Of course Kieran made out like a bandit, and is full of energy...and sugar ever since. It all started with Santa's gift, which is a hockey net, so the first thing we did Christmas morning before any gifts were open...hockey. After that Kieran wanted to play with each item we opened-so we took a long time to open presents and loved every minute of it-from colouring to wardrobe changes. Kieran also got a helmet-whihc he has barely taken off- a train set, and a balance bike along with much more-so much more that we have re-arranged our basement to make room for more play room. The weather was absolutely beautiful and mild so on boxing day we got to go out and play hockey and he got to ride his bike (also called motorbike with vocal sound effects) before the snow came yesterday. We have been playing cars and race cars, hockey scrimages while listening to Stompin' Tom's 'Hockey Song' ;on repeat, and reading lots of new stories. Kieran even has his own art space now downstairs with me-with markers, paint, crayons, sketch book and kinetic sand!
We have been out visiting and feasting-many late nights (for Kieran) and having lots of smiles and laughs!
Where ever you are Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thanks for reading.
The Russell Family
Well its been over 3 weeks since my last post. This time of year just seems to move so fast-I have had stories to tell and pictures, but time seems to move differently and the weeks pass. So I made sure I sat down today to write a little before the moments get lost in distant memory land.
A few weeks ago, I walked into our bedroom to find a well decorated boy, decorating his father. It was too cute to not take a picture. He certainly was enjoying himself
Above is Kieran's eyes glued to his first Christmas Parade-he got so many high fives! He was a high five machine.
We also decorated our tree which he wasn't too interested in-until he found his airplane and train ornament...they weren't allowed to go on the tree. I tried to sneak one on, but he spotted it sighed, shook his head and said "Kieran's train, oh no" (in a very disappointed voice) and then took it down.
Kieran has added Santa and hohoho to his vocabulary andis quite intrigued by the man but does not want to be near him. Maybe someday :)
We had our first snow fall-enough for Kieran and Daddy to build a snowman. We learned Kieran loves to eat snow, so much that his chin is a little raw.
He love lights and there is a little park by us that is filled with lights and photo opportunities-I was able to get a picture of this little elf before he dashed off. Kieran loves lights-there is always a little voice in wonder whispering "Oh wow" when we see some for the first time.
Another one of his favourite things is window sticks. He loves them-if we ever come to visit and you have some, watch out, he will move them all over-and if any look like hockey sticks we are in trouble.
There you have it-lots of pictures and memories this edition, better late than never. The next one will be Christmas, I have to say I am more excited this year since Kieran will be excited too! Con't wait to see what Santa brings!
