Here is my sweet little scientist tie dying his Easter eggs this past weekend. He had lots of fun and not too much mess (bonus). I am pretty sure he ate his weight in chocolate too. In fact Sunday morning he woke up and the first word he said from his bed was a drawn out/mumbled choooocooolate. He had 3 egg hunts, and was a little baffled by the real eggs, because they didn't open to reveal a treat or surprise, he kept trying to open them, He didn't believe me that it was egg inside-so when I finally did open one his response was "ewww, yuck!".
We had a wonderful March break, regardless of colds and coughs. We went to Indigo a couple times and played with trains and friends, ate lots of pancakes, we went to the zoo (Where we bought his new favourite toy, a dinosaur truck) and went to the Irving Nature Park and fed the chickadees. Kieran wanted to come close, but he did not want them to land on him, it was sweet, we were there for two hours! Love the fresh air and the ocean.
He has been coming up with all sorts of new phrases-for example, "It's fine" as in "Kieran come brush your teeth" I say and hear "No, Mommy, It's fine". or "Kieran bring this home" as in we are in the zoo gift shop and he picks up a truck "Kieran bring this home now".
I had a great week with my boy and I think he enjoyed it too, lots of smiles and laughs.
So Kieran has a big a boy bed now (at least it is still toddler sized...although it isn't very comfortable for me to lay in. He loves it though, and so far he's been pretty good about sleep time in it. Although the first night/morning I woke up to Peter saying excuses me at 4:40 am, only to open my eyes and see the silhouette of a toddler in my door frame...horror movie panic for a second, but he hasn't done that since (knock on wood). The second night in his big bed, he and I celebrated with Paw Patrol sheets, popcorn and a little ipad.He hasn't been feeling great the past couple days and he has actually been asking to go to bed for a nap-which has never happened before. So glad that he is learning to check in with his body. At night he has started telling me the stories, Mr. Independent now that he has a big boy bed, taking care of his Mom.
