Held my first public paint party this month!! So exciting. I have done a few private parties with staff and a girls night. but this was the first one I opened up to anyone, it also was the largest I have taught so far. I am also excited because I just ordered 25 new easels which should be here near the beginning of March, so now no canvas will need to lie flat on the table!!!
I had 16 participants of various ages as you can see from the photo. We were working on painting our own family portrait as foxes, an animal held dear to my heart. (For those that don't know Kieran's name means Dark Fox). Some customized their foxes with bows and ties, while another transformed the fox onto a raccoon, love how different everyone's painting turned out!
I think everyone had a great time and I was pumped all day for it, I had so much energy. Everyone's paintings turned out great! It is such an experience to see someone take what you are saying and make it their own. A blank canvas can be a scary thing and I am so proud that everyone took a deep breathe and went for it!
Teaching these workshops is a dream come true (or at least part of it coming true) for the past five years I have been dreaming about holding workshops to share art with others for social, healing, and self discovery, things are finally starting to come together.
